Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Sept. 21, 2013 … BMW Team RLL finished third and fourth in today’s inaugural American Le Mans Series race at the Circuit of the Americas. Both BMW Z4 GTE machines ran strongly for the majority of the race, only to fall victim to the top speed advantage of the Corvettes and Vipers in the closing stage of the 2.75-hour event.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Sept. 20, 2013 … Joey Hand, driving the No. 55 BMW Team RLL Z4 GTE, topped the GT class in today’s qualifying session for Saturday’s inaugural American Le Mans Series race at the Circuit of the Americas. The session was held during a slight break in the rain that had been falling the entire day. The BMW Team RLL Z4 GTEs were both shod with Michelin wet-weather racing tires. Hand’s pole time (2:17.178 minutes) came on his second timed lap of the 3.4-mile, 20-turn circuit and is the third pole for the team this season (Lime Rock Park, Baltimore, COTA). Substituting for Maxime Martin this weekend, Hand will co-drive with long-time teammate Bill Auberlen.
SEBRING, Fla. (September 17, 2013) – Firestone Indy Lights rookie and title contender Jack Hawksworth, 22, got his first laps in an Indy car today at the 1.65-mile Sebring International Raceway short course and was as impressed with the Dallara-Honda-Firestone IndyCar Series racing package as the team was with him. He completed 123 laps and set a best lap time that was comparable to others who were also testing.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Sept. 16, 2013 … BMW Team RLL will face the 3.4-miles and 20 turns of the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), in Austin, Texas, for the first time this weekend in Round 8 of the 2013 American Le Mans Series. Completed in 2012, the track is notable for being the current home of the Formula 1 US Grand Prix.
INDIANAPOLIS (September 4, 2013) – Graham Rahal drove the No. 15 blu eCigs Dallara-Honda-Firestone on two configurations of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course today and was happy for the opportunity to drive his Indy car in this historic test. He completed 44 laps on the course used for the GRAND-AM event and 20 laps in the afternoon on the reverse configuration with the MotoGP loop.
BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 3, 2013) – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announced today that it is scheduled to test Firestone Indy Lights rookie and race winner Jack Hawksworth, 22, at Sebring International Raceway on September 17. It will be the first time for Hawksworth to drive an Indy car.
