BMW Celebrates 40th Anniversary of 1975 Sebring Victory With Original Team and Drivers: Commemorative Livery to Race on Both BMW Team RLL Machines

Wood­cliff Lake, N.J. – March 17, 2015… BMW Team RLL will enter­tain very special guests and race with a commem­o­ra­tive livery on both BMW Z4 GTLM machines at the 63rd Annual 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 21st. The race marks the 40th anniver­sary of BMW’s first major sports car race victory in the US. Intro­duced last Friday evening by Ludwig Willisch, Pres­i­dent and CEO, BMW of North America, at his BMW Legends dinner during the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, BMW Team RLL will run a special livery on its two BMW Z4 GTLM race cars to honor the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL, which intro­duced BMW Motor­sport GmbH to the US four decades ago.

BMW Team RLL Finishes 2nd and 4th at 53rd Rolex 24 at Daytona; No. 25 BMW Finishes Only .478 Seconds from Victory

Wood­cliff Lake, N.J. – January 25, 2015… BMW Team RLL finished second and fourth in this weekend’s 53rd Rolex 24 at Daytona on the 40th anniver­sary of BMW Motorsport’s very first race in North America and the start of the 1975 IMSA season for the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL. With car numbers chosen to honor that car, the No. 25 BMW Z4 GTLM finished second and the No. 24 BMW Z4 GTLM took the check­ered flag fourth.

Bad Luck for BMW Team RLL in GTLM Class at Gripping Season Finale

Road Atlanta (US), 4th October 2014. The inau­gural season of the United SportsCar Cham­pi­onship (USCC) came to a close with a turbu­lent Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta (US) on Saturday. BMW Team RLL’s Dirk Müller (DE), John Edwards (US) and Dirk Werner (DE) came seventh in the GTLM class with their number 56 BMW Z4 GTLM after 388 laps. The 11th round of the year was won by Porsche drivers Wolf Henzler (DE), Bryan Sellers (US) and Marco Holzer (DE).

Difficult USCC qualifying for BMW Team RLL at Road Atlanta

Road Atlanta (US), 3rd October 2014. In the final qual­i­fying of the 2014 United SportsCar Cham­pi­onship (USCC) season at Road Atlanta (US), BMW Team RLL qual­i­fied seventh and 11th for the GTLM grid. Driving the number 56 BMW Z4 GTLM, Dirk Müller (DE) recorded a personal best time of 1:19.143 minutes in the 15-minute session. This put the German, who will share driving duties with John Edwards (US) and Dirk Werner (DE) in Saturday’s race, in seventh.

BMW Team RLL Petit Le Mans Preview

Wood­cliff Lake, N.J. – Sept. 30, 2014 …  BMW Team RLL will end the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Cham­pi­onship season at this Saturday’s Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta, in Braselton, Georgia. In a depar­ture from the previous year’s events, this year’s race will be run as a 10-hour race – not 1000 miles. BMW Team RLL will be racing to finish in a top-three posi­tion in the GTLM class Manu­fac­turer cham­pi­onship as well as ending the season with all regular season drivers with a top-five place in Driver points.
