PRACTICE NOTES/QUOTES – May 19, 2014
RAHAL AND SERVIA PARTICIPATED IN FINAL PRACTICE TODAY FOR THE INDY 500; THE FOCUS SHIFTS TO “CARB DAY” ON FRIDAY
1) Josef Newgarden 227.105 mph 37 laps
30) Graham Rahal 222.773 mph 38 laps
33) Oriol Servia 221.272 mph 46 laps
GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 National Guard Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We planned to run more but it was cut short. At the beginning of the session I thought we had a pretty good balance. I think we ran a little too much downforce but I felt pretty competitive. We’re just going to put a little polish on her (race car) and try to come up with a couple of ideas to try on Friday and go for it.”
ORIOL SERVIA, No. 16 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “Unfortunately we couldn’t run as much as we had planned for today. We had just really got into our plan and someone had a problem so Honda took cautious measures and we stopped running. We will have to make it all happen in the one hour session on Carb Day.”
