    Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway

    NTT INDYCAR SERIES

    RACE NOTES / QUOTES – June 7, 2026

SCHUMACHER EARNED HIS TOP SERIES FINISH OF 16TH PLACE IN THE BOMMARITO AUTOMOTIVE GROUP 500; FOSTER FINISHED 20TH AND RAHAL WAS THIRD WHEN HE MADE CONTACT IN TURN 4

GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 One Cure Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “I just went to the inside, just a hair. Christian went to my outside and I was just trying to keep him behind me. We were going to pit in a few laps, so I did not want to lose that track position, and the inside was dirtier than I expected, and when I turned in, the minute I turned in, she went right around. There is nothing you can do, and it’s a shame, because the rear had been quite good all day long. I felt like I had a good margin. On the starting stint we had a massive amount of understeer, but it had gotten a lot better and so it is super disappointing to have a hit like that.”

FAST FACTS: Rahal started 11th for his 11th race at the track. He had dropped to 18th early on as he settled into the race and worked to improve the handling of his race car from inside the cockpit. The team also made some changes on his first pit stop and he had topped off for fuel on Lap 61 during a caution for Seigel to provide more options later. As another pit cycle was happening, he was running in third place on Lap 112/260 and lost control of his race car and made contact with the Turn 4 wall. He was seen and released by INDYCAR Medical and was scored in 23rd place. His highest start at WWTR is seventh place in 2018, and highest finish is 10th – in 2018 and 2022. In 2025, he started 22nd and reported a loose race car soon after the start. The team attempted to improve it with quick adjustments in the pit stops to no avail. He took the checkered flag in 22nd place… Rahal qualified third on the Phoenix oval this year and finished ninth. And at the Indy 500, he qualified 28th and finished 20th. After three podium finishes in the past six races, Rahal is hoping to pick up the momentum at Road America … Has SIX INDYCAR SERIES wins (2008 – St. Pete street course; 2015 – Fontana Super Speedway, Mid-Ohio road course; 2016 – Texas Super Speedway; 2017 Detroit Race 1, Detroit Race 2) and FIVE poles (2009 – St. Pete street course, Kansas oval; 2017 – Detroit Race 1 street; 2023 – IMS road, Portland road) and his highest series season-ending standing is fourth place in 2015… Rahal dropped from a 9th place rank in series point standings to 11th with a total of 193.

LOUIS FOSTER, No. 45 Droplight Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We struggled the entire race, we just didn’t have any grip. Plus, we had to manage a hybrid issue and had some contact and had a bent front toe link. Honestly, it was just a day to forget. It was just go out there, survive and keep it out of the wall. On to Road America.”

FAST FACTS: Foster started 17th for his second INDYCAR race here. He struggled with the handling of the race car but the team maximized the opportunity to use the race to improve the set up. Ultimately, he finished 10 laps shy of the 260-race distance after a longer stop near the end of the race to repair damage caused by contact with McLaughlin. He took the checkered flag in 20th place. In 2025, he started 21st and worked his way up to 10th place before he got high in the marbles, lost control of his race car and slid across the track after completing 128/260 laps. Race leader Josef Newgarden had nowhere to go and the two collided with Newgarden going upside down. Both were checked and released from INDYCAR’s Medical Unit. He competed twice at WWTR in the INDY NXT series where he started on pole in 2024 and led all 75 laps en route to victory. In 2023, he qualified fifth and finished second. After matching his best series finish of seventh place in the Sonsio Grand Prix at Detroit on Sunday, he is hoping to continue the strong results. He maintained his 19th place rank in the INDYCAR point standings with a total of 131.

MICK SCHUMACHER, 47 Bommarito Automotive Group / ENVE Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “There were lots of things happening in that race. I’m awfully proud of the job that everybody has done on the No. 47 Bommarito Honda. I think we really showed them what we are made of out there, even overcoming some of the issues that we had, like, the fuel issue. I think there were a lot of things that were playing against us, but we made up for it on the track. It was great to be racing with the big guys out there and still be able to run with them if not faster than them. There is a lot to take away from here, a lot learned, and now we’re going to a road course, which is going to be great.”

FAST FACTS: Mick earned his series best finishing position of 16th place in his first event at WWTR and third oval race overall. The 260-lap race featured two red flag periods due to weather conditions and a total of 60 laps of caution. He overcame a fuel flow issue on his second stop, completed all but one lap as well as was the highest finishing rookie in race that featured 17 lead changes and numerous passes. He tested here on April 23. His highest career INDYCAR start came at his oval racing debut in Phoenix with a fourth-place qualifying effort. In the race, he had been running in the top 11 through his first stint and cycled as high as sixth place on Lap 70 before he made his first stop on Lap 71. A suspected wheel gun failure on the right front tire led to a lengthy stop and he dropped to 22nd when he returned to the track. He soldiered on through two more stops, gained valuable experience and ultimately finished 18th in his oval racing debut. At his second oval race — the Indy 500 – he earned the Fastest Rookie Award after qualifying 27th for his first Indy 500. In the race, he was the highest finishing rookie with an 18th place result in the 33-car field. He gained valuable experience running in the top 10 for a handful of laps with a top running order of fifth place. Near the end of the race, he went a lap down but was able to get back on the lead lap by passing the leader. On the second to last restart, he lightly brushed the wall and continued but it brought out a caution and set up a final one-lap shootout for the win… He is ranked 25th in series point standings with a total of 89.

    FIRESTONE PIT STOP CHALLENGE STANDINGS

The No. 15 crew came into the race in the lead of the pit stop standings with a margin of 253-228 over Team Penske’s crew for Newgarden. As Rahal didn’t finish the race and earn pit stop points, the crew dropped to second place in the standings but only trails by three points to Chip Ganassi Racing’s crew for Dixon, 254-251.

NEXT UP: All three team cars will test at Road America on Tuesday, June 9 in preparation for the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America on June 21. Coverage of the race will be carried live on FOX beginning at 1 pm ET on June 21.

Rahal, Foster and Schumacher to Start 11th, 17th and 18th in the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 on Sunday Night

    QUALIFYING NOTES / QUOTES – June 6, 2026

RAHAL, FOSTER AND SCHUMACHER TO START 11TH, 17TH AND 18TH FOR THE BOMMARITO AUTOMOTIVE GROUP 500 ON SUNDAY NIGHT

    POLE: Alex Palou 2-lap avg. speed of 174.353 mph (L1: 25.7195, L2: 25.9000 mph)

    11th: Graham Rahal 2-lap avg. speed of 171.479 mph (L1: 26.2634, L2: 26.2213 mph)

    17th: Louis Foster 2-lap avg. speed of 170.569 mph (L1: 26.3437, L2: 26.4208 mph)

    18th: Mick Schumacher 2-lap avg. speed of 170.290 mph (L1: 26.4258, L2: 26.4252 mph)

GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 One Cure Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “It was great run. The boys and girls have done a great job for me. We made a couple of tweaks there going into qualifying and all played out perfectly, and that’s all you can ask for, you know? We don’t have the speed that some of these guys have so we’ve got to play it for what we’ve got. But to do two consistent laps, with the second lap being better than the first, for One Cure, and for every one of our sponsors on this number 15 car, it feels good. That’s a lot stronger than we’ve been here in recent years. Those were our best laps of the weekend. Obviously qualifying should be, but we threw some things at it, so you never really know if it’s going to work and it did and we’ll take it. I think the teams on the right track. We made some good changes today. We didn’t start good, I can tell you that.”

FAST FACTS: This will be Rahal’s 11th race at the track. After three podium finishes in the past five races, Rahal is looking to continue the team’s momentum this weekend… Has SIX INDYCAR SERIES wins (2008 – St. Pete street course; 2015 – Fontana Super Speedway, Mid-Ohio road course; 2016 – Texas Super Speedway; 2017 Detroit Race 1, Detroit Race 2) and FIVE poles (2009 – St. Pete street course, Kansas oval; 2017 – Detroit Race 1 street; 2023 – IMS road, Portland road) and his highest series season-ending standing is fourth place in 2015… Rahal is 9th in series point standings with a total of 186.

LOUIS FOSTER, No. 45 Droplight Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “It was a decent run but I think we had a lot more on the table, really. It wasn’t the cleanest of runs for us. I think the wind was difficult and I just had too much understeer. We trimmed a bit more for qualifying and I was pushing as hard as I could but I just got too much understeer on the exits and had to lift out of it or otherwise, I’d be in the wall. It wasn’t the best we could produce for this qualifying session, but was still pretty quick which shows the big steps forward for the team. But I think generally, so far the season has gone reasonably well. Obviously, we always want to do better and get more, but so far I’m happy with it.”

FAST FACTS: It will be Foster’s second INDYCAR race here. He is ranked 19th in the INDYCAR point standings with a total of 121.

MICK SCHUMACHER, 47 Bommarito Automotive Group / ENVE Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We had a lot of understeer right from the get go and that wasn’t ideal. I couldn’t carry the speed that I wanted to. Obviously, with the temperatures being hot and stuff that will happen. We made some changes for that, that we hoped would be good enough for the conditions. We were hoping for a little bit more. We came here testing and the was in a great place. I think that with the temperature’s being hotter than I expected, the conditions made the car very understeer-y for us. Tonight we will work to figure out what we need for tomorrow and we’re going to have a good race tomorrow. I think the race will be a great spectacle under the lights. I think it’s up to 90 percent sold out so far, and I hope they will get a couple more. I think we’ll be able to have a good show.”

FAST FACTS: It will be Mick’s first INDYCAR race at WWTR. He tested here on April 23 and is hoping to turn that experience into a strong performance. On the second to last restart, he lightly brushed the wall and continued but it brought out a caution and set up a final one-lap shootout for the win… He is ranked 25th in series point standings with a total of 75.

NEXT UP: FOX will begin live coverage of the 260-lap Bommarito Automotive Group 500 on Sunday beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

Rahal Earned Third Podium in Five Races with 3rd Place at the Detroit GP; Foster Matched Best Finish With Seventh & Schumacher Finished 21st

    Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing
Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix – Streets of Downtown Detroit

    NTT INDYCAR SERIES
    RACE NOTES / QUOTES – May 31, 2026

RAHAL EARNED HIS THIRD PODIUM IN FIVE RACES WITH THIRD PLACE IN THE DETROIT GRAND PRIX; FOSTER MATCHED HIS CAREER BEST SEVENTH PLACE FINISH AND SCHUMACHER RAN AS HIGH AS THIRD BUT FINISHED 21ST

GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 Fifth Third Bank Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We had a lot of pace when we needed it. We got lucky a little bit with the yellow. Although having said that, that was the strategy we played. When we got spun, we knew we were going to pit on the very early side of this window, and we’ve got to go a long, long way and save a lot of fuel but we have got to get a yellow and it worked out perfectly. We know that during the pit cycles is when you typically get yellows. Brian Barnhart did a wonderful job calling that, Honda did a wonderful job in the Motor City; I know it feels good for them. And the fuel mileage was really key for us. And the drivability too. On those restarts, I didn’t have any push to pass left because when I was passing all those guys to make my way back though the field, I had to use it all. For Fifth Third Bank, United Rentals. Mobil 1 and all our partners, this feels extremely good to have a season like this. And look, we had a little bit of bounces too, but we also stayed out of the carnage other than the Kyffin (Simpson) part watching Power and McLaughlin take each other out and all the other guys banging. Luckily it was a good day. And my girls are here for the first podium, I think maybe ever, all of my daughters are here so its special for me.”

    • FAST FACTS: Rahal earned his third podium in the last five races with a third-place finish today. It was also his fifth podium finish in Detroit. He started 12th and had pit from fourth place on Lap 36/100. On Lap 38, Kyffin Simpson hit him in Turn 3 and dropped him to the back of the field, which drew an avoidable contact penalty for Simpson as well as a full course caution. Before the race went green, Rahal pit from the back and then topped off on fuel in the hope of capitalizing on a caution later. He utilized his push to pass to help him return to the front. During the third of five cautions from Laps 66 to 71, many cars pit for fuel and Rahal moved up to fifth place on Lap 70. On the Lap 72 restart, third place Schumacher and fourth place Malukas battled for position with Schumacher going nose first into the barrier and Malukas going into the Turn 5 runoff, which moved Rahal to third. He held the position until the checkered flag. The event marked Graham’s 22nd race in Detroit. His father, Bobby, won the inaugural race on Belle Isle in 1992 and Graham won the doubleheader there in 2017. Overall, he has two wins, five podiums (including today) and one pole in 22 races here… Has SIX IndyCar Series wins (2008 – St. Pete street course; 2015 – Fontana Super Speedway, Mid-Ohio road course; 2016 – Texas Super Speedway; 2017 Detroit Race 1, Detroit Race 2) and FIVE poles (2009 – St. Pete street course, Kansas oval; 2017 – Detroit Race 1 street; 2023 Indy road course, Portland road course) and his highest series season-ending standing is fourth place in 2015… He moved from 11th to 9th in series standings with 186 points.

LOUIS FOSTER, No. 45 Droplight Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “It was a good day, honestly. First off, congrats to Graham again; he’s doing a great job. Obviously, he got helped out by that yellow, which hurt me a bit, but all in all, is was a great day as a team. It was my best race for sure in INDYCAR; I am very, very happy with that result which matched my best result of the Indy GP. There is some consistency and there’s some momentum so I’m looking forward to getting to some tracks that we know we are fast at.”

    • FAST FACTS: Started 11th in his second INDYCAR race here and put in a strong performance to match his career best finish of seventh place from the Sonsio GP in May. His INDYCAR debut in Detroit didn’t go as planned. He qualified 14th and started 13th due to grid penalties. He moved up to fifth by Lap 13 in the race as different pit strategies played out. A caution came out from Laps 14-16 and he moved into fourth on Lap 16. He took over third on Lap 19 and held it until Lap 32 when second place runner Rahal pit and he took over second. He made his first stop on Lap 37 and set his fastest lap of the race on Lap 41/100 while seventh. After his final stop, he ran 15th when a car part failed and he hit the wall going into Turn 3. He was taken to INDYCAR Medical and was seen and released as was Felix Rosenqvist who was hit by Foster. He was ultimately scored in 22nd place. On Saturday, he was a mere -0.008 of a second from transferring to Round 2, with a seventh-place rank in Round 1, Group 2 and qualified 14th. Louis has competed in three INDY NXT races on the downtown streets of Detroit and started from pole in all three. In 2024, he won the race from pole. And in Race 1 of a doubleheader weekend in Detroit in 2023, he started from pole but contact limited his finish to 19th.. In Race 2, he finished third after starting from pole. He is hoping to have another chance to run in the top-five of the race in Detroit… He is tied for 18th place in the points standings with 121.

MICK SCHUMACHER, No. 47 ENVE Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “Obviously it was a very disappointing end to the whole story. Starting with the last full course yellow, I think up to that point we had done everything right in terms of strategy and the right calls, right timing and everything, which brought us up to P3. And during that last full course yellow, we lost the radio and so from that point on, I was on my own and just not in the right settings with the car and everything. It was the hardest lap ever, and then I obviously got run into a couple times and was just trying to survive more than anything. And then I ended up going straight there with Malukas, so it was very disappointing for what could have been a really decent result for us. The team did an amazing job in terms of pit stops and guided me through the race. I appreciate it and owe it all to them, to have been put into the position.”

    • FAST FACTS: Schumacher started 23rd and ran as high as third place from Laps 70-72. The action-packed race had five caution periods for a total of 21 laps. On the third caution, many in the field took the opportunity to pit for fuel and Schumacher moved up to third place. On the restart on Lap 72, Schumacher and David Malukas were engaged in an intense duel for third, with Schumacher missing the corner in Turn 5 and nosing into the barriers. Malukas had nowhere to go and ran wide with the incident bringing out another full-course caution on Lap 73. On Lap 83, Mick served a drive through penalty for taking full service in a closed pit n Lap 82 and came in again on Lap 87 to repair his in car radio. His car also lost the GPS transmission and was not scored for a few laps until the system updated. He ultimately finished 21st…. He has 75 points and an overall rank of 25th place.

NEXT UP: The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 will take place next Sunday, June 7 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Foster and Rahal Qualified 11th and 12th for the Detroit Grand Prix; Schumacher to Start 23rd After Contact in Qualifying

    Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix – Streets of Downtown Detroit

    NTT INDYCAR SERIES

    QUALIFYING NOTES / QUOTES – May 30, 2026

FOSTER AND RAHAL QUALIFIED 11TH AND 12TH FOR THE CHEVROLET DETROIT GRAND PRIX; SCHUMACHER TO START 23RD AFTER LOSING HIS TWO FASTEST LAPS IN QUALIFYING DUE TO BRINGING OUT THE RED FLAG WHEN HE MADE CONTACT

    1) Alex Palou 1:01.9017 / 95.668 mph (Group 2, Round 3)

    11) Louis Foster 1:01.8340 / 95.773 mph (Group 1, Round 2)

    12) Graham Rahal 1:01.9830 / 95.542 mph (Group 2, Round 2)

    23) Mick Schumacher 1:07.4493 / 87.799 mph (Group 1, Round 1)

GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 Fifth Third Bank Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “This was the same thing I’ve been fighting all weekend. The car is so inconsistent to drive, that one lap, you feel okay, the next lap it doesn’t. Which inherently is part of this place, but man, it was hard in qualifying. I couldn’t really put it fully together. I probably should have continued on, on one lap, and I lifted. I was only a tenth down on my best and I lifted to try to put together the last lap and I went into the last lap and the tires were overboard. Unfortunately, it is what it is. We’ve got to say clear the carnage on lap one. And we’re going to need to have good race pace and create our own strategy. I think that’s the biggest thing here. The tires seem to actually have pretty good life, but everybody is sliding around a lot so we’ve just got to be smart here.”

FAST FACTS: The event will mark Rahal’s 22nd race in Detroit. His father, Bobby, won the inaugural race on Belle Isle in 1992 and Graham won the doubleheader there in 2017. In 2025, he qualified fifth but had to serve a six-grid penalty and started 11th. He moved up to third place by Lap 13 as different pit strategies came into play. A caution came out from Laps 14-16 and he moved into second place on Lap 15 and held the position for 17 laps before he made his first stop on Lap 32. Once he got back on track, he radioed the crew to ask if there was an issue with his right rear tie and was called back into the pits. A nut had not tightened on his previous stop and was jammed, which took time to remove before he could take on a new one and dropped him laps down before he returned on the track. He ultimately finished 20th. Highlights in Detroit include two fifth place finishes in the doubleheader in 2021 and in 2019, he earned two seventh place finishes. Rahal’s more successful INDYCAR race weekend came in Detroit in 2017. In Dual 1 in 2017, Rahal earned his first pole since Kansas 2009 and led a dominating 55 of 70 laps en route to his fifth series victory and first ever from pole. He handily held the lead with the exception of pit cycles and built a gap of more than 13 seconds at one point before he ultimately won by a six-second margin over Scott Dixon. For Dual 2, Rahal set the second fastest time in his qualifying Group 2 to Sato to start third. In the race, he passed Hunter-Reay on Lap 8 and closed the gap to pole sitter and leader Sato but could not pass. Sato pit one lap earlier than Rahal, who took the lead on Lap 23 before he made his first of two stops on Lap 24 and returned to the track behind Newgarden who was on a three-stop strategy. Oce newgarden pit on Lap 29, Rahal took over the lead and steadily built his gap to second place to 16 seconds over Sato before his second and final stop on Lap 47. He then proceeded to build an 18 second gap over second place before he caught traffic. That reduced his lead to new second place runner Newgarden to 5.5 seconds before a red flag came out for the car of Pigot, who experiences a smoky end. All race cars were stopped in pit lane for approximately 10 minutes while the track was cleared and an attempt to remove marbles was made. The race resumed with a two-lap shootout and Rahal utilized his 57 seconds of Push to Pass over Newgarden’s 36 to keep the lead on the restart before he was able to pull a slight gap before the checkered flag to become the first winner of both races in Detroit. In total, he led 41 of 70 laps. His other podiums in the race came in 2014 with second place in Dual 1 and third place in Dual 2 in 2015. Overall, he has two wins, four podiums and one pole in 21 races here. Has SIX IndyCar Series wins (2008 – St. Pete street course; 2015 – Fontana Super Speedway, Mid-Ohio road course; 2016 – Texas Super Speedway; 2017 Detroit Race 1, Detroit Race 2) and FIVE poles (2009 – St. Pete street course, Kansas oval; 2017 – Detroit Race 1 street; 2023 Indy road course, Portland road course) and his highest series season-ending standing is fourth place in 2015… He is ranked 11th in series standings with 151 points.

LOUIS FOSTER, No. 45 Droplight Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “I was optimistic and we tried to advance to the top six but I didn’t think we had the car to do that. We kind of maximized what we had there today, honestly. I’m glad that we transferred to Round 2. But I think there is still some work to do on the car and try to understand why we’ve lost a bit of time to last year, because we had a bit more pace last year and this year is a bit of a struggle, especially for Graham. I think generally the car feels okay there is just a lack of grip and we need to figure out how to bridge that deficit to the top teams. Whilst we can be happy-ish about transferring, we still want to be up front.”

FAST FACTS: Will be his second INDYCAR race here. MICK SCHUMACHER, No. 47 ENVE Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “I clipped the wall in Turn 6 and that pushed me wide into Turn 7 and then I clipped the wall there and that ultimately then put me off into the wall on the exit of seven, unfortunately, because that lap didn’t seem too bad. We were on the back foot all day yesterday, all day today. This track is obviously very different to anything that I’ve driven so far just in terms of how different the grip is corner to corner but also, it’s a high commitment track for sure. Definitely this morning it was really weird how the tire behaved. People were doing 12 lap runs and the best lap was the last one. That was kind of the target for us as well, to run as much as possible. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite work out. I’m sorry to the team about that; its never a great thing, and unfortunately, this time we have a little bit more to do to repair everything for tomorrow. On that lap, I was around five tenths faster. The car felt pretty good. I just tried a bit too much and unfortunately didn’t put the lap together then after that. So, I think the car was all right. It would have not been, you know, right up there. I doubt it. I mean, I haven’t seen what the other guys did at the end there, but, for me and for what I felt like this morning, it was an improvement. These (street courses) are all tracks that I see for the first time. I haven’t even done this track on the simulator. I think that that probably plays a lot in qualifying In Long Beach, we didn’t do FP1 and still had a good qualifying. It’s a very different series, and definitely a very different car to drive to me and I’m trying to find my ground here and learn as we go.”
