BMW Team RLL Qualifies 2nd and 4th at Virginia International Raceway: Auberlen P2, Müller P4

Wood­cliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 23, 2014 … Bill Auberlen equaled his season’s-best qual­i­fying effort today at Virginia Inter­na­tional Raceway, driving the No. 55 BMW Team RLL Z4 to the outside front row starting posi­tion for tomorrow’s 2.75-hour TUDOR United SportsCar Cham­pi­onship Oak Tree Grand Prix. His lap of 1:44.053 minutes around the 3.27-mile, 17-turn VIR circuit was only .256 seconds behind the pole-sitting Ferrari. The entire class was sepa­rated by only 1.015 seconds. Auberlen and co-driver Andy Priaulx currently stand fourth in GTLM driver points.

Wood­cliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 19, 2014 …  Up next for BMW Team RLL is the TUDOR United SportsCar Cham­pi­onship round at Virginia Inter­na­tional Raceway, in Alton, Virginia, on August 24th – Round 9 of the 11-race 2014 season. The weekend will feature Grand Touring cars in a 2.75-hour stand­alone race for GTLM and GTD competi­tors at the vener­able 3.27-mile, 17-turn perma­nent road course.

BMW Team RLL Finish 2nd and 8th at Road America; Strong Drive by Dirk Müller Returns BMW to the Podium

Wood­cliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 10, 2014 … Dirk Müller secured BMW Team RLL’s first podium finish in four TUDOR United SportsCar Cham­pi­onship races with an excel­lent closing stint in the No. 56 BMW Team RLL Z4 GTLM to take a second place finish in today’s Road Race Show­case at Road America. Hounded from behind by the No. 93 Viper for the final minutes Müller stayed ahead to complete 61 laps of the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit in the 2.75-hour contest. He ulti­mately finished only 1.588 seconds behind the winning No. 62 Ferrari. Co-driver John Edwards started the race from the pole posi­tion and saved the day by deftly avoiding the race’s first acci­dent to suffer only minor damage to the left front fascia. He pitted during the first caution period to have the damage repaired and hand off to Müller.
