Dries Vanthoor

Dries Vanthoor grew up in a true racing family. His father passed on the racing gene to him and his seven-year-older brother Laurens who won the German Formula 3 championship in 2009. Dries started his career in karting before moving up to Formula Renault 2.0 in 2015 and then making the jump to GT racing a year later.

He quickly made an impression there, as in 2017 he won the LMGTE Am class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the age of 19. Among his greatest successes, the 25-year-old Belgian counts his two triumphs at the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2019 and 2022. It\'s no wonder that he considers the Nordschleife – alongside Macau - his favorite track.

Since 2023, Vanthoor has been under contract as a works driver for BMW M Motorsport and had an impressive debut season. In January, he defended his previous year\'s victory in his favorite city at the 24 Hours of Dubai. In his BMW M4 GT3, Vanthoor followed up with triumphs at the Kyalami 9 Hour and the Indianapolis 8 Hour later in the year.
