XPEL 375 – Texas Motor Speedway
Round 2 of 17 in the 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES
QUALIFYING NOTES/QUOTES – Saturday, March 19, 2022
HARVEY, LUNDGAARD AND RAHAL WILL RELY ON SOLID RACE SETUPS TO MOVE FORWARD IN SUNDAY’S XPEL 375 AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
POLE: Felix Rosenqvist 2-lap avg. speed of 221.110 mph
24th: Jack Harvey 2-lap avg. speed of 218.781 mph
25th: Christian Lundgaard 2-lap avg. speed of 218.687 mph
27th: Graham Rahal 2-lap avg. speed of 218.410 mph
GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 Fleet Cost & Care Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “It was not a good day of qualifying for our team. We have to do better tomorrow, and we will. My race car is good so far, but qualifying was a different story. We trimmed in a panic right before we ran, which wasn’t the smartest move and unfortunately that hurt us, combined with other things.”
CHRISTIAN LUNDGAARD, No. 30 PeopleReady Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “Texas qualifying is done. My first qualifying on an oval track didn’t go to plan but it’s pretty obvious that the three cars were just not quick enough. It is what it is, the race is long tomorrow so we just have to crack on for Practice 2 later and see what we can gain. It’s interesting, it’s different, it’s special for me to have this experience now and to have gone through it. I’m happy but still disappointed in some ways, but we will see tomorrow, the points are scored tomorrow.”
JACK HARVEY, No. 45 Hy-Vee Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “All three cars struggled at a track where qualifying is important. I’m not sure what we are doing wrong but obviously we’re going to work really hard because no one is satisfied with that kind of qualifying. We have another session to try to get our race car right because that’s the most important thing. The points are given out on Sunday so we will work to get our No. 45 Hy-Vee Honda machine at the front.”
NEXT UP: The XPEL 375 at Texas Motor Speedway will take place on Sunday. Live coverage will begin on NBC at 12:30 p.m. ET.
