Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing
NTT INDYCAR SERIES
Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
QUALIFYING NOTES/QUOTES – July 2, 2022
THE FIELD IS SET FOR SUNDAY’S HONDA INDY 200 AT MID-OHIO
1) Pato O’Ward 1:06.7054 / 121.861 mph (Group 2, Round 3)
16) Christian Lundgaard 1:07.4207 / 120.568 mph (Group 2, Round 1)
18) Graham Rahal 1:07.5909 / 120.265 mph (Group 2, Round 1)
24) Jack Harvey 1:07.9362 / 119.653 mph (Group 2, Round 1)
GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 Fifth Third Bank Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “The car was a handful on (Firestone) blacks that session and the (alternate) reds made it a hair better, but just not enough. We didn’t have pace. Christian and I are right next to each other and Jack is a handful of spots back. We will try to play the strategy game for tomorrow. Strategy wise, it’s a fairly open and easy two-stopper. We’re going to have to look at some different, interesting things, try to catch a yellow flag. We’ll look at it here tonight and try to find some ideas on how we can utilize strategy to move forward.”
CHRISTIAN LUNDGAARD, No. 30 Hendrickson Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We lost about six-tenths compared to P2 (practice 2) compared to the other cars, so I don’t know where that time’s gone. We know the track temp is higher for sure, the air temp is higher, but that just proves that our car is too sensitive to the temperature. In warmup tomorrow, we will need to try and take a big swing at it and see where we are for the race.”
JACK HARVEY, 45 Hy-Vee Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “Normally in INDYCAR, we’ve been good at qualifying and we haven’t had a good one in a while. We went the wrong direction with the setup but we will work on it tonight and come up with something for the race.”
