THE STARTING GRID IS SET FOR THE CHEVROLET DETROIT GRAND PRIX
1) Josef Newgarden 1:15.2153 / 112.477 mph (Group 2, Round 3)
19) Christian Lundgaard 1:16.3068 / 110.868 mph (Group 1, Round 1)
20) Jack Harvey 1:16.8347 / 110.107 mph (Group 2, Round 1)
23) Graham Rahal 1:16.4265 / 110.695 mph (Group 1, Round 1)
GRAHAM RAHAL, No. 15 United Rentals Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We are struggling to get a car that’s comfortable to drive. Or one that’s uncomfortable but fast. We are going over the fundamentals to figure it out. For the race, we need to just stay out of trouble and maximize any opportunities that come our way.”
CHRISTIAN LUNDGAARD, No. 30 Mi-Jack Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “It was a tough qualifying session. We tried to do it all in one stint with the reds but it didn’t work out. I think we would have been good with a red there to get through and transfer. We will crack on and throw some stuff at it tomorrow. I think I was still the fastest team driver which is obviously some sort of satisfying but we aren’t where we want to be. All three of us wants to be further up. It will be a long, physical race. Let’s go.”
JACK HARVEY, 45 Hy-Vee Dallara/Honda/Firestone: “We haven’t had the pace so it’s been a little stressful. We’ve tried a few things to try to make some headway. For the race, it’s a whole different ball game. Naturally we will be optimistic and see if we can make something good happen. In qualifying, we took a little bit of a direction shift in the right way. It didn’t show up much on the time sheets yet but we feel it was a positive.”
