ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (July 15, 2026) – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) announced today that Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Vanda) (Nasdaq: VNDA), a leading global biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative therapies to address high unmet medical needs and improve the lives of patients, will be the primary sponsor of Mick Schumacher’s No. 47 NTT INDYCAR SERIES entry at four series events in 2026.
Vanda Pharmaceuticals will feature NEREUS™ (tradipitant), an oral neurokinin-1 (NK-1) receptor antagonist, for the prevention of vomiting induced by motion, on the No. 47 Honda for Mick Schumacher in events in Nashville, Portland, their home race in Washington D.C. and Monterey, Calif.
While this is the first involvement in motorsports for Vanda Pharmaceuticals, they are involved in other high-profile sports sponsorships across the ATP (venue), NHL, NBA, WNBA, college basketball, and regional sports networks to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.
Schumacher, the son of legendary seven-time Formula One champion, Michael Schumacher, is in the midst of his first season in INDYCAR competition. His impressive resume includes 43 Formula One starts and a best finish of sixth place, along with three podiums in World Endurance Championship (WEC) competition.
After 11 of 18 INDYCAR races in 2026, Schumacher’s best start is an impressive fourth — earned in his first-ever oval race at Phoenix in only his second series start — while his best finish of 16th came on the oval at World Wide Technology Raceway near St. Louis. He was named the 2026 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year and also won the Fastest Rookie award.
Despite seeing most tracks for the first time, and learning the new discipline of oval racing, Schumacher has shown promise and run at the front, most notably when he was in third place late in the Detroit street race before the loss of radio communication hindered his opportunities and he ultimately had to pit for mandatory repair due to safety reasons.
The 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season resumes with the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix, Round 12 of 18, on Sunday, July 19. Live coverage of the race begins at 5:30 p.m. on FOX, FOX Deportes, FOX One and the FOX Sports app. The 18-race schedule includes new venues in Arlington, Texas, Markham, Ontario, Canada and Washington, D.C.
