ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (May 22, 2026) – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) announced today that Würth Group, a leader in the development, production, and sale of assembly and fastening materials, will be the primary sponsor of Mick Schumacher’s No. 47 NTT INDYCAR SERIES entry for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 to be held on Sunday, May 24 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). Schumacher earned the Indy 500 Fastest Rookie Award with his four-lap average qualifying speed of 229.450 mph to start 27th in Sunday’s legendary race.
The RLL INDYCAR SERIES involvement for Würth Group is the newest part of their comprehensive sports sponsorship strategy which is based on visibility at major international events. Würth Group is visible as the title sponsor of the Würth 400 presented by Liqui Moly in the NASCAR Cup Series in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as sponsoring two cars in the Cup Series. Würth also supports MotoGP as the official tool supplier.
Outside of motorsports, Würth recently extended its long-term commitment to international handball through a partnership with the IHF Men’s and Women’s Handball World Championships through 2029, including the Men’s Handball World Championship which will be held in Germany in 2027. Würth also has a strong presence in soccer, as a partner of the German Football Association, the Italian Football Federation and referees in LaLiga, Spanish soccer’s top professional division. Würth also has strong presence in alpine skiing, hockey, water polo, and the Special Olympics, among others.
Schumacher, the son of legendary seven-time Formula One champion, Michael Schumacher, is in the midst of his first season in INDYCAR competition. His impressive resume includes 43 Formula One starts and a best finish of sixth place, along with three podiums in World Endurance Championship (WEC) competition. After six of 18 INDYCAR races in 2026, Schumacher’s best start is an impressive fourth place earned in his first-ever oval race at Phoenix in only his second series start. He was running inside the top 11 before a faulty air gun impacted his final result. He was also on target for a career best finish of 11th at the previous race on the IMS road course on May 9 before he was penalized for contact.
The 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES resumes with the Greatest Spectacle in Racing – the Indy 500 — on Sunday, May 24. Live coverage begins at 10 a.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes, FOX One and INDYCAR Radio on Sunday.
