Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Sept. 30, 2014 . . . BMW Team RLL will end the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season at this Saturday’s Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta, in Braselton, Georgia. In a departure from the previous year’s events, this year’s race will be run as a 10-hour race – not 1000 miles. BMW Team RLL will be racing to finish in a top-three position in the GTLM class Manufacturer championship as well as ending the season with all regular season drivers with a top-five place in Driver points.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Sept. 19, 2014 . . . BMW Team RLL qualified mid-field for Saturday’s 2.75-hour Lone Star Le Mans race at Circuit of the Americas, in Austin, Texas, the penultimate round of the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. Today’s qualifying session was notable for the most recent Balance of Performance changes, which doubled the spread of the GTLM class qualifying field from one second to two seconds.
Munich (DE), 18th September 2014. BMW Team RLL will visit the Circuit of the Americas (US), in Austin, Texas, on 20th September for the Lone Star Le Mans race, the penultimate round of the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC).
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 24, 2014 . . . BMW Team RLL put in a strong performance in today’s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Oak Tree Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway, finishing 3rd and 4th in the headlining GTLM class.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 23, 2014 . . . Bill Auberlen equaled his season’s-best qualifying effort today at Virginia International Raceway, driving the No. 55 BMW Team RLL Z4 to the outside front row starting position for tomorrow’s 2.75-hour TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Oak Tree Grand Prix. His lap of 1:44.053 minutes around the 3.27-mile, 17-turn VIR circuit was only .256 seconds behind the pole-sitting Ferrari. The entire class was separated by only 1.015 seconds. Auberlen and co-driver Andy Priaulx currently stand fourth in GTLM driver points.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 19, 2014 . . . Up next for BMW Team RLL is the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship round at Virginia International Raceway, in Alton, Virginia, on August 24th – Round 9 of the 11-race 2014 season. The weekend will feature Grand Touring cars in a 2.75-hour standalone race for GTLM and GTD competitors at the venerable 3.27-mile, 17-turn permanent road course.
Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – Aug. 10, 2014 . . . Dirk Müller secured BMW Team RLL’s first podium finish in four TUDOR United SportsCar Championship races with an excellent closing stint in the No. 56 BMW Team RLL Z4 GTLM to take a second place finish in today’s Road Race Showcase at Road America. Hounded from behind by the No. 93 Viper for the final minutes Müller stayed ahead to complete 61 laps of the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit in the 2.75-hour contest. He ultimately finished only 1.588 seconds behind the winning No. 62 Ferrari. Co-driver John Edwards started the race from the pole position and saved the day by deftly avoiding the race’s first accident to suffer only minor damage to the left front fascia. He pitted during the first caution period to have the damage repaired and hand off to Müller.

John Edwards drove to the second GTLM class pole position for BMW Team RLL in the 2014 TUDOR United Sports Car Championship season in this afternoon’s qualifying session for Sunday’s 2.75-hour Road Race Showcase at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wis. Edwards’ lap of 2:03.747 minutes was set on his fourth round of the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit and was one of only four qualifying times in the 2:03-minute bracket. Edwards and co-driver Dirk Müller currently stand eighth in GTLM driver points.

More than four miles long, many of the Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin circuit’s fourteen turns are some of the most challenging in the world. On August 10th, BMW Team RLL will race there for the sixth-consecutive year in the 2.75-hour Road Race Showcase.

BMW Team RLL will start from the second and fifth starting positions in tomorrow’s 2.75-hour Brickyard Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. The race is the seventh round of the 2014 TUDOR United Sports Car Championship and marks the first time BMW Team RLL has raced at the most famous racetrack in North America.
